Baby Food and Flowers

"The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land."

Song of Solomon 2:12

It was such a beautiful day Wednesday afternoon and I was just finishing reading about Macro photography in a book Na-naw bought for me; so, I decided to take some pictures of flowers and berries that were around our house.

The berries off of one of our holly trees. The rest of the flower/berry pictures are after these 3 pictures.

Lydia experienced her first bites of homemade baby food Wednesday afternoon!

"It looks yummy..."

"I can't wait..."

"Yeah, I get to eat it now!"

(I took a video of Lydia eating baby food and it is at the very bottom of this post)

Now here are some of the flower pictures!

The yellow flowers were Echnicea flowers and the pink, white and orange flowers are Zinnias!

This is the video of Lydia eating her first bites of pureed rice baby food!

Baby Shower and Fireproof

"As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything."
Ecclesiastes 11:5
Saturday morning after a speedy breakfast we all piled into our oversized white bus and headed over to the State Fair. Set up our Black Beauty table and then went to our grandparents house. We all stayed there for about 30 minutes and then all of the girls, excluding Lydia who was sleeping and going to come later, drove to Mrs. Blue's house where we had a Baby shower for Mrs. Blue! After some wonderful food and warm fellowship we opened some presents. Hannah, Alexis and I (Kimber) left during the opening of the presents with our grandparents, brothers (without Josiah) and daddy to go see "Fireproof" which was scheduled for 1:30. Na-naw (our grandma) wanted to make sure we got 10 seats by each other so we could sit together so we arrived early just to make sure, since the night before it was packed. As we were waiting until 1:30 we met lots of good friends from our late church, Hanover Friends, who were coming to see the movie also. It was nice getting to catch up with everybody! :) My Aunt Megan and Uncle Kevin came about 1:20 to watch the movie with us. As we were waiting for "Fireproof" to begin the sound wouldn't work and then it was the picture as the commercials were rolling. We think that might have been Jesus at work to keep any unwanted pictures away! It finally worked - sound and picture - and we enjoyed the movie while eating warm, salty popcorn and bubbly Sprite! Na-naw and Paw-paw provided the tickets for the movie (I think the popcorn also). It was a wonderful movie. All of us cried except for the boys (who were too young to understand most of the movie) and maybe Alexis. Daddy said (with a twinkle in his eye) that "my eyes were sweating from all that salt in butter in the popcorn." Sure! :) It was a great movie - here's the website http://www.fireproofthemovie.com/.

Some fluffy clouds as we drove to Na-naw's house.

Our family went to the State Fair yesterday (Monday) and had a wonderful time! I took a good amount of pictures so I'm making a slideshow so you can see all the good ones! I hope to post the slideshow by Saturday if not before!
